Governance

Editorial policies

These policies describe how Lumora journals are governed and how editorial decisions are made and protected. They apply to each journal as it launches.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made by each journal’s editor-in-chief and editorial team on the basis of scholarly merit. Publisher support does not override editorial judgement, and commercial or institutional interests do not influence acceptance.

Decision-making

  • Decisions rest on relevance, originality, rigor, ethics, and fit with the journal scope.
  • Submissions are judged on their content, not the identity or affiliation of the authors.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts under consideration are confidential. Editors and reviewers do not disclose or use unpublished material.

Conflicts of interest

Editors, reviewers, and authors disclose relationships that could be seen to influence the work. Editors recuse themselves from handling submissions where they have a conflict.

Corrections and post-publication

Where errors or integrity concerns affect the published record, journals issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate, with clear and transparent notices.

Complaints and appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions or raise concerns by contacting the editorial office. Complaints are handled fairly and confidentially.
